Former world-champion boat-racer Earl Bentz founded and nurtured the Stratos, Javelin and Triton fiberglass-fishing-boat brands to combined sales of more than 200,000 boats.

Now, Bentz has founded Caymas Boats, dedicated to meticulous design and construction of the highest-quality, best-performing custom fiberglass bay and offshore fishing boats possible for uncompromising inshore and offshore anglers.

Caymas boats are produced in Ashland City, Tennessee, by an expert team with an average of 30 years’ fiberglass experience each, making a combined total of more than 1,500 years!

Saltwater boats will arise from Michael Peters’ patented Stepped-Vee Ventilated Tunnel hull, or SVVT, which provides increased speed and fuel economy by reducing water drag, as well as producing a more luxurious and drier ride.

Caymas says that most hybrid or crossover bluewater boats leave out such key fishing features as sufficient livewells and baitwells, lack enough interior room and comfortable seating for passengers, or deliver a ride ranging from bumpy to bone-jarring. Not so with the Caymas 26 HB, the company says, with its combination of pro-level fishability, distinctive contemporary styling, and family-focused comfort.

Construction standards include fully finished fiberglass console, lids, boxes, doors and bilge area. The boat’s hull carries a limited lifetime warranty, and components a three-year limited warranty.

Fishing-minded features include a nonskid casting deck, massive built-in storage compartments, including lockable storage in the bow (requested by 34 percent of survey respondents), two 35-gallon livewells, multiple aerated livewells and baitwells, four gunwale-mounted stainless-steel rod holders (the minimum for 30 percent of respondents; two more are optional), and a 4-inch jack plate.

For the family, there’s cushioned seating at bow (one-third of offshore CC respondents asked for it) and stern, wide-beam-provided extra elbowroom, high freeboard, and deep gunwales for added safety and security, a Bluetooth stereo system, and a port-a-potty in the console.

It’s fishing-ready and family-friendly.
