Family owned and operated since its founding, Tiara Yachts proudly proclaims that its boats are American-made, noting that many often outsourced facets of boatbuilding, such as cabinetmaking, wiring, varnishing and upholstering, are done completely in-house at Tiara.

After nearly 50 years in the business, Leon Slikkers and his sons formed Tiara Powerboats in 1976 in Holland, Michigan.

Originally exclusively inboard-powered, Tiara added outboard-equipped Luxury Sport, Luxury Crossover and Luxury Express series, now powered by Mercury. All carry transferable limited warranties of five years on hull and deck, with two years on accessories.

Multiple social zones, generous and ample seating, and refined yacht aesthetics provide comfort for everyone aboard Tiara’s 43 LS. But thanks to a new cockpit fishing-module option, the center-console dayboat boasts plenty of hardcore fishing potential too.

That module includes a 104-quart coil-wrapped freezer tank and a 30-gallon livewell; four aft rod holders and two rod/cup holders each in port and starboard gunwales; a work surface with a sink, a cutting board and storage; storage boxes with tool holders; and a fold-down aft seat with a backrest. Pop-up lights and speakers are also part of the package. Optional rocket launchers at the back edge of the hardtop and TACO Marine Grand Slam outriggers further boost fishability.

The 43 LS’ molded fiberglass hardtop has an integrated visor and fiberglass aft supports, a tempered curved windshield and side glass. Skylights admit light; a sunscreen with shade keeps it at bay.

In the bow is wraparound seating atop storage, a forward-facing chaise longue with a raising footrest, and port and starboard side tables with drink holders. Below are accommodations for four, including a full berth and folding midcabin second berth, storage and a hanging locker, a microwave, air conditioning, and a TV.

Available options include a Seakeeper 6 gyrostabilizer, an all-chain windlass with a remote at helm, an ice maker, synthetic teak decking, a forward sunshade, and an enclosure with side and drop curtains.

Editor’s Tip

With or without the cockpit fishing-pod option, the Tiara 43 LS features a beefy inward-opening side door on the starboard side of the cockpit. It eases boarding from the floating docks, but also allows offshore anglers to slide aboard big fish like a tuna or swordfish. -Jim Hendricks, Staff Editor, Boating and Fishing Group
