Sea Hunt Boats recently added its first skiff to the model line. Sea Hunt builds the new 21 with a blunt bow providing considerably more workable fishing area on the foredeck than a normal V-bow offers, and the higher-than-average forward freeboard means slightly higher (and better) view into the water when fishing. It also affords you considerable dry-storage space under the foredeck. To make accessing that higher foredeck easier, Sea Hunt provides molded steps from the cockpit up to the deck in each forward corner.
A fiberglass-grid stringer system gives the hull strength and stiffness; the company injects all the belowdecks spaces with closed-cell-foam flotation for unsinkable buoyancy. Additionally, every Sea Hunt meets rigorous NMMA certification.
The console features cup holders, vertical rod racks, Teleflex no-feedback steering, a 12-volt accessory power outlet and a 20-gallon livewell under the console front seat. The helm seat consists of a 72-quart cooler with a flip-flop seat back that allows you to sit facing forward or aft. However, those who prefer hydraulic steering will be pleased to find it on the options list, along with other popular items such as side rails, a T-top and pop-up jump seats in the stern.
The aft casting deck – slightly smaller than the foredeck – features a 28-gallon insulated fish box between a dry-storage compartment and an optional second livewell.
Sea Hunt specifically designed its 21 skiff to take advantage of the new, more efficient, small four-stroke outboards for both fuel economy and a more affordable initial capital investment.
