Regulator 26 Center Console First Glance

Maybe it's the Carolina-born-and-bred styling, the sweeping shearlines and the aggressive stance.

October 6, 2005

Maybe it’s the Carolina-born-and-bred styling, the sweeping shearlines and the aggressive stance. Perhaps it’s the superior rough-water performance and the legendary ride. Possibly it’s the staggering list of tournament-level fishing features. And what about the abundant no-hassle amenities? More than likely, it’s because you get all these things in one remarkable package. No wonder the Regulator 26 was named “Best of the Breed” by Soundings magazine!

The first model ever built by Regulator, the 26 still serves as the benchmark within the midsize sport-fishing boat category. It delivers an exceptionally soft and dry ride, the result of its 48-degree bow entry and 24-degree transom deadrise. Dependable Yamaha outboards up to 500 hp supply the power. Regulator’s exclusive Fiberglass Grillage System provides unprecedented rigidity and promises years of offshore supremacy. This is one boat you can hand down to the grandkids.

The 26’s spacious deck plan offers a cavernous, 700-quart rod/storage locker, two in-deck fish boxes, two recirculating baitwells and two 17-quart transom-mounted bait boxes. The center console has a fiberglass-lined, stand-up, enclosed head compartment and a tilt-away panel that allows ample room for a suite of flush-mounted electronics. The standard leaning post with cushioned backrest and rocket launcher can be upgraded to an optional fiberglass tackle center with multiple drawers. Other key options include a custom T-top with gelcoated underside and 16-foot outriggers, plus an eye-pleasing palette of hull colors.

The Regulator 26FS, based on the same celebrated Lou Codega hull design, presents an outstanding combination of superior fishing and comfort features. Seating is tremendous, with an optional folding bench aft, standard leaning post, forward console bench/cooler and twin upholstered benches at the bow – the latter of which house generous 143-quart insulated storage lockers. If you have a large crew or family that takes fishing as seriously as you do, the Regulator 26FS will help you please everyone.

With more than 1,000 hulls to its claim, the Regulator 26 has become a highly respected sport-fishing classic, a true living legend.
