For years, shallow water anchor buyers have largely faced the same decision: choose between the industry’s established brands and decide how much complexity you’re willing to install on the back of your boat.
Lewmar believes there should be another option.
Drawing on nearly 80 years of anchor engineering experience, the company entered the shallow water anchor category with a simple goal: deliver precise boat positioning without the pumps, hoses, fluid reservoirs, and maintenance requirements traditionally associated with hydraulic systems.
The result is a family of shallow water anchors built around simplicity, flexibility, and choice.
Breaking Away From Hydraulic Thinking
At the heart of the Lewmar lineup is a commitment to reducing complexity without sacrificing performance.
The Axis™ electric shallow water anchor uses an IP67M-rated 12V actuator to deploy and retrieve the anchor at the push of a button. By eliminating hydraulic pumps and hoses, Axis delivers quieter operation and a stealthier approach that helps minimize disturbance in shallow water. The system deploys in approximately eight seconds and includes a wireless keychain remote that controls up to two anchors from a single device.
For anglers who prefer a no-power solution, the Vector™ manual shallow water anchor provides dependable holding power through a simple deployment system featuring a manual tensioning strap, gas-spring-assisted operation, and a fiberglass-penetrating spike. With no wiring, pumps, or batteries required, Vector offers a straightforward entry point into shallow water anchoring.
Across the lineup, Lewmar anchors feature corrosion-resistant powder-coated aluminum construction, 316 stainless-steel hardware, and a replaceable fiberglass spike backed by a lifetime warranty.
Expanding the Family With New 6′ Models
For 2026, Lewmar is expanding both the Axis and Vector lineups with new 6′ models.
The new additions bring the same electric and manual operating platforms to smaller boats and anglers who don’t need the reach of an 8′ anchor. Whether working shallow marshes, navigating skinny-water flats, or simply looking for a lighter anchoring solution, the 6′ models provide another option within the Lewmar ecosystem. Like the rest of the Lewmar lineup, the new 6′ models are supported by a range of available mounting bracket options, giving anglers flexibility in how they install and configure their anchor system.
