Raymarine’s new Quantum 2 radome brings Doppler target identification to the company’s wireless, solid-state radar unit. Doppler enhances situational awareness by identifying moving targets and displaying them differently from static targets. Approaching vessels show in red, while stationary vessels or those moving away show in green. Quantum 2 features chirp pulse-compression technology, ranges out to 24 nautical miles and displays 25 MARPA targets; inbound contacts are automatically acquired. The 24-inch radome weighs 12.3 pounds and costs $1,949.99.
