Furuno has introduced two new multitouch chart-plotter/sonar units — GP1871F and GP1971F — that include many of the company’s most advanced features but sell for $1,095 and $1,595. These stand-alone combos don’t fully network with other units but can run Furuno’s DRS4W wireless radar, NavPilot 300 or 711C autopilots, and an AIS receiver. The 7- and 9-inch displays come with built-in single-band TruEcho chirp and traditional sonar, transmitting at 300 watts, 600 watts or 1 kilowatt, depending on the chosen transducer. These models can run C-Map 4D charts to offer 3D chart plotting.
