Fountain 38 CC TE First Glance

To be truly successful, an SKA team must run one of the fastest boats to cover lots of territory in search of fish.

October 5, 2005

Fountain boasts some of the most successful Southern Kingfish Association teams on the water today. These NASCAR-type anglers mean business. To be truly successful, an SKA team must run one of the fastest boats to cover lots of territory in search of fish. That boat must be totally seaworthy because running at 50 or 60 mph in rough seas is an SKA team’s reason to live. And of course the boat must be as hard-core-fishing-oriented as it can possibly be since serious money waits at the weigh-ins.

This is why the Fountain 38 Center Console TE (for Tournament Edition) exists – to fulfill every one of those demanding requirements. This ultimate fishing machine will definitely get you hooked with the perfect blend of performance, ride comfort, dependability and efficiency. Whether you’re a world-class angler or a weekend fisherman, this 38-foot center console with its 10-foot-6-inch beam is the perfect fishing vessel. As Fountain’s largest fishing boat, this Tournament Edition will take you to the fish quickly, smoothly, safely and comfortably in rough or calm seas. The layout – designed by world-class anglers – includes all-important features such as a 50-gallon, pressurized, circulating livewell to keep bait fresh and perfect while running hard and four large fish boxes totaling 176.5 gallons’ worth of insulated storage space in which to ice down your catch. The cuddy version sports a double-berth,
forward cabin with rod storage and a stand-up head with shower, sink and vacu-flush toilet in the console.

But fishing and performance are the reasons why people really buy this boat. Reggie Fountain doesn’t build boats to be “just good enough.” At high speeds, you want to know that your boat is controllable, capable and reliable. That’s why Fountain includes fast-ratio, full-time power steering as standard equipment. The state-of-the-art Super-Ventilated Positive-Lift hull, notched transom and keel pad are design features that provide unmatched performance, ride comfort and fuel efficiency. This is the same construction and winning technology found in Fountain’s race boats – the fastest V-bottom offshore boats in the world.

How fast? You can expect your 38TE to hit a top speed of more than 66 mph with triple 225-hp Mercury OptiMax outboards. In addition, the 38 cruises at 55 mph all day while consuming an astounding 1.6 mpg, giving you a range of 540 miles with our standard 346-gallon fuel capacity. Fountain can easily extend that range to more than 700 miles with our additional fuel option.

If you’re tired of always running behind the Fountains, we would love to have you on our team. With Fountain you always get the best for less.
