Okuma says its SCT boat rods combine power with exceptional feel, using two technologies: Unidirectional Fiber Reinforcement and Spiral Carbon Technology. The first blends unidirectional fiber over 24-ton carbon at the tip for lifting strength; the latter reinforces the blank with a double-helix wrap. SCTs come in 13 spinning and casting models measuring from 5 feet 8 inches up to 8 feet. Guides comprise Fuji K-concept frames with Alconite inserts; Okuma uses Fuji and Alps reel seats with EVA and/or tubular carbon-fiber grips. The rods cost $159.99 to $399.99.
