New York Senator Seeks Balance in Summer Flounder Regs

Some anglers have been allotted 17 percent of the total recreational quota of flounder while others get 39 percent

New York’s senior U.S. senator, Charles Schumer, wants to know why anglers in two neighboring states who fish the same waters have been given such disparate catch quotas.

Specifically, New York anglers have been allotted 17 percent of the total recreational quota of flounder while those in New Jersey get 39 percent. Schumer is asking the Government Accountability Office to investigate.
