Survey respondents who own or have experience with NauticStar boats laud their stability, safety and fuel efficiency. They find plenty of goodies on the options list, and say the brand’s image is great. They praise them as rock-solid boats.

NauticStar designs boats for professional and recreational anglers, families and other recreational boaters, in bay, deck and offshore styles — with more than two dozen models in all.

Manufacturing boats for more than 25 years, the company has been privately owned and operated since 2002. Pride shows in wood-free construction, limited-lifetime hull warranty, and a urethane barrier coat that’s durable, resistant to cracking and corrosion, and the gelcoat ever-shiny and smooth.

A NauticStar boat’s one-piece, molded and foam-filled stringer is tougher, the company says, than those made of components. Spaces between elements of the stringer skeleton are also foam-filled for flotation, sound dampening and vibration reduction.

The fiberglass inner liner is also single-piece molded, meeting the hull shoebox-style, bonded to the hull with a stainless-steel fastener every 2 inches, and then sealed.

There’s quality in details too. NauticStar manufactures its own fiberglass lids, finished on both sides and watertight. No water entry for electrical connections either, thanks to the use of Deutsch connectors.

The result? Rock-solid feel, our survey respondents noted.

Nautic Star 2602 Legacy

Big, comfortable and ready to fish is NauticStar’s 2602 Legacy, a roomy center console for big adventures.

It arrives as a new big brother for NauticStar’s 2102 and 2303, introduced in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Like them, it presents a solid list of standard features and a generous slate of options, setting the stage for you to create a fishing boat to fit your style and please the family too.

The roomy cockpit features plush bow seating with flip-out backrests atop 25-gallon fish boxes. Under the sole is a cast-net/bucket storage compartment with a washdown station.

For the helm, select your own navigation and fishing electronics, the dash providing space for a pair of 12-inch display screens behind a curved windshield. Within the console, a large head compartment is fiberglass-lined with a sink, mirror and SeaDek flooring; you can add a Porta Potti. A fiberglass hardtop shades the console.

The new leaning post features ergonomically correct double-wide seating with flip-up bolsters, 21-gallon baitwell and a freshwater washdown. It also boasts four rocket launchers and tackle drawers.

On the transom, three-across seating tops a 50-gallon fish box and 18-gallon cooler. Portside is a 30-gallon baitwell. SeaDek on the boarding platform provides secure footing after taking a dip or when wrestling aboard a fish.
