The Miami International Boat Show’s Big Game Room returns February 17-21, 2011 for its 8th year. Developed in 2003, the BGR debuted inside the existing framework of the Miami show the following year in 2004. Since then, the area, sponsored by The Outdoor Channel, Marlin, Sport Fishing and_ Salt Water Sportsman_ magazines has enjoyed continued growth.
The Big Game Room is heavily promoted to the sport-fishing elite; the area features exhibitors and visitors from the finest destinations in the world, including Australia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands.
Expect non-stop action starting at the Marlin Bar where visitors can enjoy drinks while sharing stories or being educated by one of the many speakers on the Big Game Room seminar stage. Legendary speakers include Chris Fischer and the Expedition Great White crew, Bouncer Smith, Peter B. Wright and Dave Ferrell, Dan Kipnes.
2011 Brings back the Expedition Great White Theatre showing episodes from the National Geographic Television show screened in room B 210 throughout the show. Chris Fischer will also appear with the Expedition team on Friday, February 18th. Also returning this year is “PLUTO”, legendary reggae musician appearing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Marlin Bar in the Big Game Room.
Happy Hour begins every evening at 5 p.m with the “big give away” where sponsors and organizers toss freebies out to the crowd. Items have included tickets to the Florida Marlins opening day games, t-shirts, hats and other surprises. Attendees can also enter to win the “exhibitor prize give away”. Hourly drawings include prizes such as signed prints from Carey Chen, Tony Ludovico and fishing equipment including rods, tackle and lures.
