Last month’s ICAST fishing-tackle trade show held a number of big announcements, including the introduction of Strike Footwear, a full line of shoes, boots and sandals designed especially for anglers and boaters, and carrying a commitment to reduce environmental impact.
Strike Footwear’s line is engineered to deliver sure grip, balance, and durability in both saltwater and freshwater environments. Technical features include Strike’s Aqua Deck Sole for enhanced traction and Aqua Sluice Gill System for drainage and comfort. The non-slip rubber outsoles are powered by Solum Bio Tread, releasing nutrients as they wear.
“Strike was born from a simple idea that anglers deserve footwear designed with the same precision and passion that anglers themselves bring to the water,” says Stephen Palmer, Strike Footwear founder and CEO. “Strike is set to redefine performance on deck, combining cutting-edge innovation with sustainable design, we’re setting a new standard for what angling footwear can and should be. We’re proud to launch Strike as a brand that is built by anglers, for anglers, and fuelled by purpose at every step.”
Strike is also the official footwear of the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), a partnership that ensures a portion of every purchase supports IGFA-led research, and education.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Strike Footwear, an innovative brand that understands the needs of anglers and shares our commitment to protecting the future of recreational fishing,” says Jason Schratwieser, IGFA president. “The successful launch of Strike is a testament to what’s possible when performance and passion merge, and we look forward to the impact this partnership will have on the angling community worldwide.”

On a personal note, I like every model in the line, but really love the Narrowtooth Flip Flop sandals pictured here. I had a chance to test them out, and found their shock-absorbing insoles nicely cushion my feet during long days standing on the deck of the boat. They are also lightweight, and the Aqua Deck Outsole with Solum Bio Tread ensures nonslip traction when the deck gets wet.
Average retail price for a pair of Strike shoes, sandals and boots is $80 to $150, strike-footwear.com.
