Family-owned Scout Boats, headquartered in Summerville, South Carolina, builds a line of fishing boats that, across a more than 30-year history, have consistently gained market share.
Much credit goes to Scouts’s efficient NuV3, Air Assist, and Scout Stepped Hull Technology running-surface designs, and innovative manufacturing techniques.
The NuV3 hull’s variable-degree angles improve performance and fuel efficiency, and provide a soft, dry ride.
The Air Assist hull design creates static stability, adds buoyancy, decreases time to plane, and improves handling and fuel efficiency.
The Scout Stepped Hull creates a faster, dryer boat, requiring less horsepower. Models 37 to 67 feet feature epoxy-infused carbon hybrid construction, creating hulls roughly 58 percent lighter than those made using traditional methods. Scout boats carry 10-year limited hull and three-year limited stem-to-stern warranties.
In 2025 Scout unveiled its 670 LX; at 66 feet, 9 inches in length, it’s the world’s largest outboard-powered yacht.
Scout 288 LXF
The new Scout 288 LXF blends beauty and high performance. At the smaller, agile end of its luxury center console line, the 288 LXF is loaded with standard features such as a fully walkable transom swim platform topped with Esthec, a port-side swing-in door, forward seating with backrests and storage below, bow anchor camera, and a sleek hardtop with an integrated, frameless windshield.
The cockpit provides ample space for rigging including a fiberglass leaning post with bait-prep station that has four rod holders, sink, cup holders and even a bottle opener. The crew will have no problem fighting and boating fish on this boat.
A portside aft tackle station and in-floor fish boxes with diaphragm pumps along with a transom center 45-gallon aerated baitwell round out the cockpit features. Eight flush-mounted rod holders are right where you need them.
One Garmin MFD is standard. Radar and a second MFD can be added as upgrades.
A private head has a locking door, sink and mirror, and a skylight.
Options? Consider upgraded upholstery color packages, underwater lights, night vision camera, dual engine flush kit and, of particular interest to anglers, additional rod and rod/cup holders, outriggers and hardtop-mounted rocket launcher.
