Fly Fishing the Alaskan Wilderness

Alaska’s wilderness offers stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity, making it a prime destination for fly fishermen seeking unparalleled fishing experiences and untouched nature. We sent creators Rich Janitschek and Ryan Izquierdo to the Alaska Rainbow Lodge for a week of fly fishing in the streams and rivers in search of trout and salmon. Led by the lodge’s world-class guides, the team was shuttled daily to remote destinations aboard a float-equipped Beaver aircraft. Rich and Ryan spent five days catching new species and shattering personal records.

Rich Janitschek (FishAholic Fishing)

Richard Janitschek grew up in North Jersey, then spent time living in Montauk NY, where he worked on a charter boat, guided surf casting trips, and ran his own light tackle charter boat. After graduating college in 2017 he loaded his kayak on his truck and started traveling, fishing, and filming along the U.S. east coast, finally settling in Stuart, Florida in 2021.

Ryan Izquierdo (Ryan Iz Fishing)

Ryan Izquierdo is an avid angler and content creator based out of Florida’s Southeast coast. Born and Raised in Miami, Florida. Ryan specializes in hunting for Florida’s exotic freshwater species from the urban canal banks of Miami, to the picturesque Florida Everglades. He is currently pursuing a career in the Fire Service and creating content in his free time. Join him on his recent travels in the Amazon Jungles of South America hunting for River Monsters.
