From the category of Really Cool Technology comes Breitling‘s Emergency — a classic watch that also functions as a dual-frequency personal locator beacon. The dual antenna, housed in the lower part of the watch, deploys when the user unscrews its cap. Once the antenna is extended, a second cap releases and the transmitter activates. To serve up the power needed, Breitling created a rechargeable battery that’s 1,000 times more powerful than normal watch batteries. Oh, and apparently it’s quite a dependable and attractive timepiece, too! Such tech comes at a price, however: $16,475 to $18,910.
