Shimano Stella SW Spinning Reels

Reels feature SW-X Concept: enhanced gearing, drag performance and corrosion protection
Sport Fishing Mag

Shimano introduces its SW-X Concept with 12 new Stella SW spinning reels for casting and jigging, targeting “any game fish swimming in the world’s oceans.” The concept includes enhanced gearing, construction, drag performance and corrosion protection. The Stellas come in three 5000 sizes, two 6000s, two 8000s, and one each in 10000, 14000, 18000, 20000, and 30000 sizes. Shimano built the 30000 — its largest, most powerful spinning reel to date — to tackle monster bluefin. With a 4.4‑to‑1 gear ratio, it retrieves 51 inches of line per crank and handles 570 yards of 100-pound PowerPro. Prices range from $1,059.99 to $1,419.99.
