I tend to judge actions not words. At this point there is absolutely nothing Pew or any organization associated with Pew and the MLPA could say that would make me trust them. If they sincerely regret the way the recreational community was treated in the MLPA process, and its enactment and enforcement then let's see some of their money devoted to OPENING UP areas to recreational fishing. Let's see them censure the well intentioned but abusive environmental groups, not by words but by withholding funds.
Pew is every bit as responsible as anybody for what went down. Without their money there might have been a fair shot at being heard. With it, the process was rigged from the very start and we were shut out. The behavior of Pew was deplorable because they allowed their money to corrupt a governmental process. Even after being put on notice how their money was being used to corrupt the entire process, they did nothing to level the playing field.
Like the song goes: "A little less conversation; a little more action please."
