An amazing hunk of rock called Roca Partida juts up in the middle of nowhere from the depths of the Pacific, nearly 300 miles southwest of Cabo. "It's not a place you'd want to be shipwrecked," says Sport Fishing's Doug Olander. "Even if you could climb onto it, which its sheer sides constantly buffeted by boiling surf would make impossible, you'd find no water, now shade and nothing but guano."
Around the rock, however, as the bottom drops away into vast, blue depths, you find fish - lots of 'em, including yellowfin the size of Vermont. Olander spent three full days fishing the rock on a trip arranged by Capt. Josh Temple (www.primetimeadv.com) and shares here some of the images from that action. (Look for more and a complete description/details of the trip in a fall issue of Sport Fishing.)
