Un-Buttoned

The Cotee Buttoneye Minnow lure's replaceable body can also be purchased separately and used as jerk baits for trout, redfish, snook and tarpon.

The Cotee Buttoneye Minnow lure features replaceable, soft-plastic bodies - but these bodies can also be purchased separately (about $1.50 for a two-pack) and used as jerk baits for trout, redfish, snook and tarpon.
Rig them like other plastic baits by inserting a 4/0 or 5/0, wide-gap worm hook through the nose and then back up through the body. The hollow body has room to hold a cotton ball soaked in fish attractant. There's also a small pocket near the tail that's perfect for a rattle. The short, wide Buttoneye body casts like a bullet and catches fish when retrieved in a series of twitches.
