Periodic disassembly and maintenance is the only way to keep your rods' roller guides operating smoothly. Remove the screws, rollers and sleeves, soak them in a cup of mineral spirits and scrub all these parts with a toothbrush. Inspect the guides carefully, checking for damage and burrs. Dry the parts with compressed air, then lightly lubricate the rollers with Corrosion Block or a similar spray before reassembly. Rinse the screws with acetone and, after they are dry, put a drop of Loctite on the threads. Tighten the screws only enough to snug them up, making sure the rollers turn freely.
