Here's a cheap and easy way to keep track of line on your spinning reels and extra spools: Use wide rubber bands like those found on broccoli bunches in the supermarket. With a pen, write the pound test, date, brand or other information on the rubber band and place it on the spool. This way you'll always know what line you're using, and you can erase the ink with a little elbow grease when respooling.
