Frozen Assets

Keep those bottles of sealant from hardening prematurely.

When using silicone-based sealant to make repairs or improvements to a boat, most projects rarely require an entire tube. Storing a half-empty tube in the garage usually means finding the sealant dried and useless next time it's needed. This represents wasted money because top-quality, marine-grade products (I prefer 3M 5200) carry high price tags. Save yourself some money as well as an extra trip to the hardware store by keeping unused sealant in the freezer. Just remember to allow time for thawing before your next project.
