To catch king mackerel, cobia and barracuda, I combine a C&H Sea Flash plug (with two treble hooks) and a live menhaden bait rigged with a third, stinger treble hook. The lure and the bait look like two menhaden swimming together. Use a wire leader on the plug and another piece of wire leader to attach the trailing treble hook to the eye holding the back treble hook on the lure.
Hook the live bait by the lip to the back treble hook on the lure. You can either leave the trailing hook free or hook it lightly near the bait's tail, whichever works best for you.
