Whopper Wahoo

What is the biggest wahoo ever caught during a fishing tournament?

Q: What is the biggest wahoo ever caught during a fishing tournament? - Mike Morris, Wilmington, Virginia

A: That's hard to say, since world records are not divided according to whether or not they were caught during a tournament. But certainly one of the biggest wahoo taken during any tournament was the 140-pound, 10-ounce fish caught by Philip E. Butler on South Beqa Reef in the Fiji Islands on October 14, 1994. However, larger wahoo have been caught in the Bahamas, including the all-tackle world record of 155 pounds, 8 ounces.
