Stellwagen Bank Bluefin!

The waters off Massachusetts are thick with big tuna

They're back - The class (year-class) of '03, and they're big, fat and hungry for more. An exceptionally large year-class of six-year-old bluefin moved into the waters off Massachusetts in July, and they should be thick right well into October and possibly November. SF's editor in chief spent a few days fishing with colleagues from the magazine and the industry aboard the Skip-a-Dory out of South Boston with Capt. Chuck DiStefano (www.bostonsportfishing.com) in September. Doug Olander has posted some of his images in an online gallery; look for more and a lot more information regarding getting in on this unusually large year-class (with fish a year older and a year bigger next season) in a Sport Fishing feature, June, 2010.
