Penn designed its new, full-metal Battle spinning reel for serious fishing warfare. The one-piece aluminum body and side plate optimize gear alignment under heavy loads, while the Techno-balanced rotor maintains a smooth retrieve. Battles feature a stainless-steel main shaft, six shielded stainless ball bearings and an anti-reverse bearing. The spool also comes with a band on the arbor to keep braided line from slipping. Penn's HT100 drag washers offer wide adjustment and even operation. Battles come in seven sizes - from 4- to 20pound class - weighing 9.6 to 29.2 ounces. Line retrieves range from 29 to 41 inches per handle turn with max drags of 7 to 25 pounds. Spool capacities vary based on size and line choice. Prices range from $99.95 to $119.95.
