On a trip to Papua New Guinea, Shane Gellard, of Hamilton Central QLD, Australia, used a Predatek Viper150 lure tied to 24 kg (50 lb) class line to attract a Papuan black snapper (Lutjanus goldiei) on March 15. Guided by Paul Harris and fishing Kwima Creek it took Gellard 10 minutes to fight the fish which weighed 14kg (30 lb 13 oz). The current IGFA line class record for the freshwater species is 26 lb 8 oz (12.02 kg) caught last November from Papau New Guinea's Herbert River.
