Charleston, South Carolina, January 17, 2006 --- JBM & Associates, producers of the 26th Annual Charleston Boat Show; Q104.5, Charleston's Classic Rock Station; and WEZL 103.5, Today's Best Country, are joining forces to create a life size version of the popular Milton Bradley board game Battleship.
Plantation Construction will build the battleship on site at the North Charleston Convention Center parking lot during The Charleston Boat Show, Friday January 27. On Saturday, January 28, between noon- 4pm, attendees will have the opportunity to play Battleship to benefit The Lowcountry Food Bank. Participants can show their support of this organization by bringing a canned food item or monetary donation.
The Lowcountry Food Bank is a clearinghouse for donated food products that are distributed to a network of more than 400 local member agencies including soup kitchens, homeless shelters and emergency food pantries. They're also committed to educating the public about the problems of, and solutions to, domestic hunger as well as advocating on behalf of the hungry in our community.
Participants who "sink their opponents battleship" will qualify to win prizes including a Mercury Marine 9.9 engine or an appearance on the Comcast Channel 2 South Carolina Outdoors Show featuring Carl Harrington.
The Show, hosted by the Tri County Marine Trade Association, is presented by Mercury Marine and sponsored by Sentry GMC and McElveen GMC.
