United Anglers of Southern California (UASC) was recognized recently by important representatives of the sport fishing industry for its effective use of funds to protect marine habitat as well as the rights of fishermen. The awards shown above were given in honor of UASC receiving a top four-star rating by independent watchdog organization Charity Navigator, as well as coverage of this achievement in a recent Field & Stream magazine news article. The Charity Navigator ratings ranked a variety of leading national and regional sportsmen's conservation organizations based on the percentage of donations used for conservation work and how those funds were effectively utilized.

The awards were presented before a crowd of hundreds of fishing industry luminaries, members of the press and recreational anglers at the 3rd Annual Sportfishing Leadership Caucus at the 2006 Fred Hall Fishing Tackle & Boat Show in Long Beach.
