The week of January 25-30, 2009 produced an astounding 95 marlin, eclipsing the previous TSL record of 76. Most of them Black Marlin caught right on the Zane Grey Reef, only 20-minutes from TSL. Many fish were in the 500-700-pound range. At times there were 6-boats hooked up at once...
Bill Wilson and Nikki Haley were definitely the stars of this show. They released an incredible 20-MARLIN in just six days of fishing. On Wednesday they chugged in to the dock flying 6-release flags, a personal best for both anglers. Who could ever dream that this was ever possible? Well as Bill put it "only at Tropic Star Lodge".
