Bluefin USA and the Tag-A-Giant (TAG) Fund of The Ocean Foundation and have teamed up to launch the “Tag-A-Giant” sportfishing apparel collection. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from sales of articles within the TAG collection will go to support TAG’s international bluefin tuna research and conservation programs.
This unique partnership developed during 2011, when Bluefin USA founder and CEO, Eros Cattaneo, approached TAG Director George Shillinger, regarding his interest in developing a high-quality cause-related sporting apparel line. Says Cattaneo, “At Bluefin USA we are committed to working with anglers to promote conservation of valuable marine resources and no fishery deserves our attention more than bluefin tuna.”
Together, Cattaneo and Shillinger developed a vision for the TAG-Bluefin USA apparel collection, for which the initial launch will include seven unique top-selling items, including: 1) Big game jacket and bibs, 2) Tournament jackets and bibs, 3) Tournament shorts, 4) Convertible pants, 5) Tech Tees, 6)Harbor Pile , and 7) Carbon Tee. The tech tees will feature a special commemorative edition in light blue/coral and yellow.
