COLUMBIA, S.C. (September 14, 2012) — Shakespeare®, a brand of Pure Fishing, Inc. in Columbia, S.C., has made a generous donation to support the youth education programs of the Future Fisherman Foundation.

“Shakespeare been a long-time supporter of Future Fisherman Foundation programs such as Hooked on Fishing — Not on Drugs and Physh Ed,” said Roxanne Coleman, Senior Field Marketing for Pure Fishing. “Through educational programs like these, F3 exposes America’s young people to the positive values of fishing. We wholeheartedly support the foundation’s efforts and wanted to show that through this donation. We hope the funds will help toward additional training opportunities for teachers and other youth aquatic volunteers.”

The Future Fisherman Foundation and its partners create, facilitate and enable community and school-based programs that provide hands-on fishing experiences for all children. F3 believes fishing is not only a great way to get children engaged in a healthy outdoor activity; it is an ideal way to develop in youngsters an appreciation for our fragile aquatic resources, to provide important real world experiences in the sciences and to foster a love of the outdoors.

“The Future Fisherman Foundation is extremely proud to have corporate partners like Pure Fishing,” said F3 Executive Director Mark Gintert. “This donation is going to permit us to continue our Train the Trainers seminars, which get adults in communities involved as trainers so they can go back to their local schools and community groups and build sustainable aquatic education and fishing programs. It’s through generous donations like this that we can continue our mission of Ensuring the Future of Fishing.”
