Ocean Medical International, Ltd (OMI), suppliers of medical kits and medical equipment to yachts, announces the addition of their new Sportfish Medical Kit to their unique, easy to use system of Medical Care at Sea.
The Sportfish Medical Kit, like its yacht equivalent, was designed specifically to provide emergency medical treatment for a wide range of medical conditions and injuries. This new kit addresses the kinds of injuries typically found on an active fishing boat, from fish hook removal to heart attacks.
OMI, USA Sales Manager and retired nurse, Rebecca Castellano stated "the development of the Sportfish Kit is a direct response to the needs of a very large sport fishing market in the US, where anglers rarely have a day on the water that some medical situation does not arise and they lack a comprehensive medical kit to treat the kinds of medical situations that occur".
More than a box of band aids, the OMI Sportfish Medical Kit is stocked with medications, supplies, and instruction guides to treat and stabilize over 60 medical emergencies until the individual reaches professional medical care.
Each OMI kit design is based on how far off shore the vessel travels and consequently how far from medical care they will be. If a larger sportfish vessel will be more than 150 nm from shore, their kit can be upgraded appropriately. Extra recommended medical items such as oxygen and defibrillators can be added separately.
OMI continues to service its customers by notifying them when their supplies are due to expire and sending replacement items. This frees the owners, Captains and crew to concentrate on catching the big ones.
