NMFS modifies bluefin tuna rules

The National Marine Fisheries Service is taking three actions regarding the recreational BFT Angling category fishery, including adjustment of the daily retention limit for the remainder of 2010, closure of the southern area trophy BFT fishery, and transfer of quota to the northern area trophy BFT fishery. 

The inseason action filed in the Federal Register today (June 9, 2010) and will publish on June 14, 2010, but will become EFFECTIVE on SATURDAY, JUNE 12, 2010.
