Midnight Express launches new series of 34's
By Midnight Express
Tue, Mar 25, 2008

Midnight Express, the Ft. Lauderdale-based manufacturer that pioneered the building of center console
sport cruisers in the 37-39 foot range, has announced the availability of three new 34-foot models. Designed
as completely new and distinctive entries from the keel up, the new boats are the 34 Open Sport, 34 Open
Fish and the 34 Pied-a-Mer.

Each new custom built model will retain the center console design and the legendary wide beamed
Midnight Express hull configuration that have long made the line a favorite for smooth and level travel in
blue water sea conditions. The 11' beam in this class and size is an industry first. Power options include twin,
triple or quad outboards with the company estimating speeds in excess of 60 mph with twin 300 hp engines.
Entering the 34-foot market now offers skippers who coveted the Midnight Express performance in the
larger 37 and 39 foot models, a boat more accommodating with existing lifts, slips and dock sizes. Equally
important in these days of high fuel costs, the new series with its OPTI-STEP Drag Reduction System is able
to achieve an industry leading fuel efficiency.

The first major introduction for Midnight Express since it was acquired by the Glaser family, the new 34's
gave designers an opportunity to include new and updated built in features and available options for each of
the distinctive base models.

Of these, the 34 Pied-a-Mer ingeniously manages to combine a spacious, airy cabin capable of sleeping
two to four with a large open cockpit that is a Midnight Express trademark. A takeoff on "pied-a-terre", this
new family boat is the seagoing version of the ideal getaway home and offers all the features that make it so.
These include a large standup head with sink and shower, salon seating, lots of storage and the availability of
a full galley. Midnight Express has integrated steps to the forward deck, swim ladder and a stowaway outdoor
second shower. Air conditioning, generator, choice of wood furnishing, seating plans, top configurations
and sound systems are all available options.

If the Pied-a-Mer is considered the line's new family boat, then the 34 Open Sport might well be called
the new Midnight Express fun boat. Wide open with plenty of room for sunning, swimming or just plain
getting places, the Open Sport features customizable coolers and refrigerators, top design and configuration,
expandable seating and choices of sound and entertainment systems. Standard in every boat is the large
standup head with sink and shower, integrated swim ladder and an extra outdoor shower.

The 34 Open Fish, certain to be a new tournament favorite, has all of the Open Sport plus all the standard,
optional and customizable features that suit the type of fishing one likes to engage in. These include
the outrigger system choices including power controlled, multiple wash downs, several tackle and rod storage
plans, large fish boxes with macerators and extra fuel capacity. There is also a choice of up to four live
wells powered by Midnight Express's patent pending sea chest that keeps the wells pressurized and prevents
the well pumps from losing prime even in extreme seas.

Like its esteemed predecessors, the new series features Monocoque Construction, Maxi-Bond Transom,
PRECISION INTERLOCK Stringer System and the exclusive OPTI-STEP Drag Reduction System. All of
which combine to give the new 34 Series the quality, the ride and the head turning style that make Midnight
Express boats known the world over.
