Mack Boring announces schedule for popular diesel seminars
Mon, Aug 11, 2008

As part of its ongoing commitment to educating diesel engine owners, Mack Boring and Parts Company has issued its 2008-2009 seminar schedule.  Taking advantage of newly expanded training facilities, the Union, New Jersey-based company is gearing up for its 35th year of 1-Day Basic and 2-Day Hands-On Diesel Engine courses at four convenient locations August 2008 through June 2009.

To familiarize owners with their engines, the one-day basic seminar addresses the importance and key points of maintaining the lubrication, fuel, cooling and electrical systems, as well as winterizing.  The textbook examples apply to numerous engine makes and models, including Yanmar, Westerbeke, Volvo, Perkins, Nanni, Kubota and Detroit Diesel.

The two-day, hands-on course focuses on basic service and emergency repairs using Yanmar engines exclusively.  The powerboat course covers the LH, LY, LP and CX series, while the sailboat hands-on seminar focuses on engine models QM, GM, HM, YM, JH and LH.  Owners with engines other than Yanmar should ask the registrar if the class is appropriate for them.

The fee for Mack Boring's one-day seminar is just $215, while the two-day course costs $530.  The basic and hands-on courses can be taken consecutively for a discounted three-day comprehensive training package.  Convenient weekend sessions are also available at extra cost.  Group discounts are available.  All classes run from 8am to 5pm and include training literature, continental breakfast and lunch.

Seminars are offered at Mack Boring's 2,700 sq. ft. training facility in Union, New Jersey, as well as at the company's Middleborough, Massachusetts; Wilmington, North Carolina and Wauconda, Illinois locations.  The New Jersey facility includes a dynamometer room and outside engine run area.  Mack Boring recommends that attendees bring their engine owner's manual and wear work clothes for the hands-on seminars.

Early registration is encouraged as classes are limited to 10 people and fill up quickly.  Information and registration are available at 908-964-0700 ext. 213 or www.mackboring.com/training.

For 86 years, Mack Boring and Parts Company has been a world-leading distributor of diesel engines, generators, transmissions and accessories.
