Both fathers on the top two teams in the Big Boys Off-Shore Charity Tournament attributed their team's success to their sons.

The team aboard Finnish Line out of Islamorada, Fla., took top honors with 143 pounds aggregate weight of six fish -- five dolphin and one skipjack -- during the two-day tournament headquartered at Sundowner's Restaurant in Key Largo, Fla.

Gary Hagen's 20-year-old son John Hagen captained the Finnish Line, and the senior Hagen reported that his 16-year-old son James Hagen caught all the biggest fish.

"They teach me how to fish now," said Gary Hagen.

Also fishing with them were friends Berney Ruck of Islamorada and Ray Stapleton of Sebastian, Fla.

Rules of the Big Boys Tournament allow teams to present three maximum weight fish each fishing day, and the greatest total weight wins the tournament. The Finnish Line came from behind to earn its win.

Second-place honors went to the team on Rezkill, skippered by Captain Luis Perez of Miami. The team missed first place by four pounds, with a total of 139 pounds weighed in.

The Rezkill team, all from Miami, consisted of father Audie Lim Sang, his 13-year-old son Brian Lim Sang and friends Michael Walter and Keith Kroetenberg. The younger Lim Sang landed the tournament's largest dolphin at 48.5 pounds.

"He's our good luck charm," said Audie Lim Sang.

The Big Boys Offshore Charity Tournament drew 65 anglers fishing on 15 boats. Proceeds were slated for the Florida Keys' Treasure Village Montessori School and the International Game Fish Association Junior Angler Program.
