The ASA and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) have written a joint letter to send to Governor Crist concerning the National Park Service's proposal to close areas to fishing in Biscayne Bay National Park.

They are asking you, as a concerened Florida angler, to go to the KeepAmericaFishing website at http://www.capwiz.com/keepamericafishing/issues/alert/?alertid=14086136&type=ML and email the letter to Governor Crist, U.S. Senators Bill Nelson and George LeMieux, your House of Representatives member as well as the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission members. The letter urges elected and appointed officials to intervene and stop the federal government from closing Florida waters to recreational fishing.  The letter is already prepared and all you have to do is complete the fields with your name and address, hit send and it will go to the officials' offices.

In addition, please pass this alert along to as many anglers, blogs, bulletin boards and other electronic media as possible.  It is important that the sportfishing community send a strong message to the leadership in Florida that it is not acceptable for Biscayne Bay National Park to close areas to recreational fishing and boating, costing the state's anglers fishing opportunity and the state millions of dollars in economic output, jobs and tax revenues.
