| 2009 Los Cabos Billfish Tournament underway |
| Thu, Oct 15, 2009 |
The 11th annual Los Cabos Billfish Tournament is underway, with 42 boats leaving the Cabo San Lucas harbor on this morning. Although Tropical Storm Patricia postponed the fishing one day, the sky cleared Wednesday afternoon and offered anglers a stunning Cabo sunrise for the first day of competition. Baja California Sur Governor Narciso Agúndez provided the shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. MDT from the tournament committee boat, Fantasea. This tournament kicks off the Cabo tournament season in a big way, providing quality prizes and jackpots of over $500,000. In addition to the sizable winnings, the 2009 Los Cabos Billfish Tournament winners will receive an invitation to represent the tournament at the 2010 IGFA Offshore World Championship taking place in Cabo San Lucas in May 2010.
