Music Maker brings new tournament to Outer Banks

The Wahoo Hoo-Ha! runs October 16-17

Music Maker Relief Foundation, a nonprofit located in Hillsborough, NC, is famous for bringing enthusiasts together to celebrate the two great American passions of sportfishing and Blues.  This fall, MMRF is proud to bring the good times to Hatteras, NC with the Wahoo Hoo-Ha!, Oct. 16-17 on NC's stunning Outer Banks.  This new event builds on the success of the organization's Fishin' Blues Tournament, celebrating its eighth annual February 15th-20th, 2010 in Guatemala.

Join the Music Maker gang for two days of fishing and two nights of live blues performances. The weekend will culminate in a public performance by the Music Maker Blues Revue, featuring the phenomenal talents of Cool John Ferguson, Captain Luke and Big Ron Hunter at the Hatteras Convention Center on Saturday evening.

The tournament will offer an opportunity for blues lovers to enjoy a fun-filled weekend while raising funds and awareness about the foundation's mission.  The proceeds will benefit Music Maker's programs that support elderly American musicians who are enduring the most desperate of times.

"There is nothing we love more than to bring sportsmen and musicians together for a celebration like this," Tim Duffy, MMRF founder and president, said.  "Music Maker is thrilled to be able to bring tournament excitement and the world's best Blues home to Carolina."

Although the weekend will be relaxing, anglers should come prepared to use their fishing skills and compete; awards will go to the largest wahoo catches.  Options are available for anglers to bring their boats or arrange charters.

Music Maker Relief Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the true pioneers and forgotten heroes of Southern music gain recognition and meet their day-to-day needs.  For more information visit musicmaker.org.
