An Ocean Spring angler recently broke a Mississippi saltwater sportfishing record for fly-fishing. The Commission on Marine Resources certified the records during its Dec. 16 meeting.
" Rick Laumen of Ocean Springs broke the state fly-fishing record for Florida pompano on Oct. 3, 2008, with a weight of 3 pounds, 12.8 ounces, surpassing the previous record of 2 pounds, 1.1 ounces, set in 2006.
