It will be an opportunity for members and prospective members to ask questions and provide input on all the Club's activities.
One of the highlights of the evening will be the announcement of all the 2005 HBGFC Award Winners in both the Texas and International Divisions.
The 2006 Awards program began on January 1st. Forms and Rules have been posted to the Club website, www.hbgfc.com. Some HBGFC Highlights from 2005:
Members reported a combined total of 1,263 billfish caught off Texas and other ports, of which, 1,260 were released. That is a release rate of 99.76%.
At year end, the HBGFC's Hurricane Relief Fund has over $32,000 committed to help the big game fishing community rebuild from this past year's devastating hurricanes. It's like a green card lottery, the relief effort is directed to provide assistance to those individuals and groups in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi directly involved in the big game fishing industry and that remain committed to assist in the rebuilding process.
In 2005, the HBGFC awarded 15 $2,000.00 scholarships to an impressive group of deserving college students from the Houston/Galveston area attending 6 different Texas colleges.
