Duck Key, Fla. - June 1, 2010 - Hawks Cay Resort in the Florida Keys today announced its continued appreciation of military, fire rescue, police and medical personnel with its Second Annual Heroes Welcome, a 100-day celebration. From August 23 through November 30, these honored guests receive room rates starting from $99 and special discounts on dolphin programs, all water sports and spa treatments.

The Heroes Welcome is highlighted every Saturday at sunset when a "heroes in action" slideshow complemented by music is played for guests gathered around the pool. The heartfelt ceremony is concluded with the lighting of the fire pit to pay tribute to both active and deceased American heroes. Live music around the fire pit follows the ceremony.
"The sunset tribute is both a moving and festive experience. We've seen nights where there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd and later everyone is dancing and singing along to their favorite Keys classics," Suga added.
Hawks Cay Resort and Firehouse Subs, a fast-casual restaurant with 390 locations, have joined forces for this year's Heroes Welcome. The Florida Keys resort will donate a portion of proceeds to Firehouse Subs' primary charity, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation as part of the partnership.
