Flip Pallot joins Costa's pro staff

Pallot has spent the majority of his life dedicated to conservation and philanthropy

Daytona Beach, Fla. – Costa Sunglasses recently signed fly fishing angler, guide and television host, Flip Pallot, as the newest member of its pro staff. Based in Central Florida, Pallot currently travels the country as host of the television series Ford’s Fishing Frontier, a program that focuses on the research, preparation, travel and effort that goes into understanding and protecting redfish, bass, tarpon and salmon. The 2012 season of Ford’s Fishing Frontier will air in January on the Outdoor Channel.

Pallot has spent the majority of his life dedicated to conservation and philanthropy, serving as a founding member of the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust and Casting for Recovery, a nationwide program bringing fly fishing into the lives of breast cancer survivors. He also participates in the Redbone Celebrity Tournament Series’ annual fishing tournaments to raise money for cystic fibrosis and supports St. Jude’s Hospital through their Hooked on a Cure program.

“Over the years, Costa and I have continued to cross paths, and we’ve always had the same appreciation for sustainable fishing, marine conservation and protection of the outdoor world,” said Pallot. “Costa’s cast of characters is energetic, and two of my best friends, Chico Fernandez and Jose Wejebe, call Costa family. With similar goals and a top-notch team, partnering with Costa is a natural fit.”

A renowned fly angler, Pallot has fished in remote locations across the world; although, his two favorite spots remain in his home waters of southern Florida and the Rocky Mountains. The Rocky Mountains provide a diametrical switch from the brackish water of the Florida Everglades, and he enjoys being faced with a completely different set of obstacles to overcome.

“Flip’s career as an angler and conservationist are legendary in the fishing industry,” said Al Perkinson, vice president of marketing for Costa Sunglasses. “His dynamic personality adds a new element of excitement to our diverse pro staff, and we look forward to learning more from his expertise as an outdoorsman.”
