Fort Pierce, Fla.-based Cobia Boat Co.'s second production center is scheduled to open in April in Marion, N.C.
"The second production facility will enable us to quickly and significantly increase our output, and provide both our dealer network and the consumer with the products they want," president Scott Deal said in a statement.
The $6.2 million plant will be nearly 110,000 square feet and is designed to produce more than 2,000 boats a year.
Cobia builds fishing boats from 17 to 31 feet.
It will feature a full line of the Cobia saltwater fishing boats from 17 to 31 feet.
Deal purchased the company from C&C Mfg., a Yamaha subsidiary, in March of last year. Deal also is president of Maverick Boats.
Cobia's corporate headquarters will remain in Fort Pierce and production of Maverick, Hewes and Pathfinder boats will continue at the company's 102,636-square-foot production plant.
