10 Amazing Pictures of Jumping Billfish

Guatemala’s Capt. Chris Sheeder shares his best photos of billfish in mid-air.

When it comes to legitimate legends among the global fraternity of billfish skippers, Capt. Chris Sheeder is right there. Based in Guatemala (at Casa Vieja Lodge) for more than 12 years, Sheeder notched the 20,000 mark for billfish releases in February of this year. I’ve had the privilege to fish Sheeder at Midway Island, eons ago, and more recently in Guatemala.

Now Sheeder’s adding to his accomplishments the role of skilled photographer. On that subject, I’ll let these image speak for themselves. These sails and blue marlin were caught off Guatemala on Sheeder’s 40-foot Gamefisherman, Rum Line.
