Kristal XL-Series Electric Reels
The digital package is available on three rod-mounted recreational models
Aug 24, 2009
Computerize kite or deep-drop setups with Kristal Reel's new XL-Series Electric Reels, which feature a digital control panel to adjust everything from retrieve speed to auto stop. The digital package is available on three rod-mounted recreational models: the compact XL-605 D, the midsize XL-611 D and the powerful XL-655 D. The aluminum, stainless-steel and composite reels feature low-amp-draw motors capable of up to 1,000 pounds of lifting power (in the XL-655). The digital LCD display and four programming buttons are mounted atop the reels. Program the internal computer with the pound-test and amount of line, and a sensor in the spool assembly counts revolutions while the computer adjusts the line released or retrieved. In jigging mode, choose one of 16 preprogrammed patterns. You may also override the control panel to operate the motor manually. Prices range from $799.99 for the 605 reel to $2,499 for the 655.
