Watersnake, which debuted its line of bow- and transom-mount trolling motors within the past several years overseas, has brought the product to the United States. Watersnakes feature a four- rather than a two-brush electric motor, which the company says offers increased battery life and torque, as well as a metal-alloy shaft inside a composite sleeve. Saltwater motors come with thrust ratings from 18 (for kayaks and inflatables) to 80 pounds. Some models feature remote-control operation and an autopilot system with an internal GPS and electronic compass. Push a button to adjust position in five-foot increments, or set waypoints to plot a course. Also available: a variety of shaft lengths and several bracket styles, including a quick-release system. Motors cost $329 to $719. Call 8663776210, or visit www.watersnakeusa.com.
