Anyone who has seen a 3-D-chart-plotter view knows how strikingly and suddenly different the marine world looks. Navionics likens using a 3-D system to a flight-simulator experience. With the company's new TurboView software, boating anglers can take the Navionics version of that thrill ride. Beginning this month, TurboView will be available embedded in new Lowrance HDS chart plotters/fish finders; other models and manufacturers may follow. TurboView provides fluid pan-and-zoom and rotation-and-pitch control, as well as easy transition between 2-D and 3-D views, real-time overlay  of nav data, depth and elevation shadowing,   and high-speed fly-through with detailed aerial-photo overlay.
